If your father was given guardianship it was probably for a pretty good reason... It really depends on where you live and what the reason is. In Michigan, for example, a woman pretty much has to be a crack whore to have her children taken away. You will have to prove you have changed and can provide a stable home.

If you can't do that, don't even try. You will be wasting your time and money.

Tanya you need to seek legal counsel. I am sorry to have to say. I know it is expensive. Besides, you do not tell where you live and each state or country is different.
