Yeah, I thought he'd at least have been offered £5.000. Haven't you noticed that this country is going down the pan? You have to watch everything you say or do for fear of offending some group of people. With political correctness and human rights it appears that all the honest decent people have to bend over and take a shafting while people who break the law or try to take advantage of this country get rewarded for it. And if you try to criticise it they brand you as being intolerant or bigoted or racist or anti-social. The process of sending illegal immigrants back to their own country takes so long that they probably know English better than their own language by the end of it! What about people - living in this country, and many also living off the state - who say how corrupt we are, how we deserve to be destroyed, etc? What happens to them? Instead of being sent away ASAP, they keep on getting benefits and they continue ranting with no trouble because of freedom of speech! Yet if you start criticising them you get the police at your door and a whole load of trouble! What's the point?

It doesn't sound fair, but there isn't enough information to know. It would be helpful if you included a link to a news story and/or other information about the incident and legal follow up.

It reminds me of the movie "Liar, Liar", when the secretary is lecturing her lawyer boss about the burglar who got wounded during a break-in, sued, and won money from the victim.
