Some people are gay because they were born that way. They have sexual feelings for people of their own gender. When they think about having sex with someone of the opposite gender, they feel the same way you feel when you think of having sex with the same gender--that it's just not right. These people are not sick, not defective, and not perverse. Their brains are wired to having sexual feelings for the same sex. End of story.
Other gay people are gay because of past experiences (especially women). They could have been so abused by a member of the opposite sex that all sexual feeling towards all members of that opposite sex has been destroyed. This can happen because of rape, molestation, emotional and verbal abuse, and/or physical violence. Women tend to be the abusee in the abuser/abusee relationship, so women make up the majority of people in this category, but don't think that all women choose to be gay. That's not the case. A woman can be born gay as well.
Yes, there are two different sexes, but that is for procreation only. We are divided into male and female so we can have babies and propagate the species. That's all. Being male and female isn't about who to have sex with, who works outside the home, and who cooks dinner. Male and female are about reproduction. Period. That's the only reason for male and female. Since we humans are sentient (meaning that we are aware that we exist), our instincts and behaviors are a little different from that of the animal kingdom. We have a survival instinct, yet many of us commit suicide. We have the need to eat, yet many of us starve ourselves into false ideals of physical beauty. And we have the drive to reproduce, yet many of us choose not to. By using your argument, a couple who elects to not have children would be just as abnormal as a gay couple.

Contrary to some people's opinions being gay is not a choice. Why on earth would someone choose to be abused, verbally and physically every day of their life? I think in these peoples development something went wrong an yes they are born this way. How do you explain a small child feeling as if he/she has the wrong body. How do you explain their attraction to the same sex. Let these people live their lives the way they want, after all they are the ones who will suffer the consequences if it is a sin.

You wrote "Aren't there two sexes for a reason?"
Like what particular reason do you have in mind?
Sex distinction is a powerful force for passing on genetic characteristics. But how can you think that there is a reason for it?
This is what is known as teleological thinking and you should be spanked and sent to the back of the class.

Nobody "chooses" to be gay! Seriously, people are just born that way! It is not a conscious choice! You don't wake up one day and go, "Yeah, i want to become a social pariah; and be hated and feared"! Do you think someone would actually choose that?? Lots of gay men have kids; because at one point and time they "tried" to be straight!! Stop trying to figure this out; and move on!! OK?

Why are some people Jewish and some people Christian? Why are some people Demo crate and some people Republican? Why do some people eat meat and some people don't?
Just because something seems strange to you or I (like being a Christian, Vegetarian who votes the Republican ticket) doesn't mean it is wrong.
Isn't that why American is such a great place to live?

Some people just find the same gender appealing and just as much as you think that being gay or lesbian is weird they think being able to like the opposite gender is weird too (probobly). Everyone's different so i don't have a problem with it. (I'm straight)

Genetics.......I went through many many men sexually trying to find that right one but I was always so shy and felt so intimidated with men. My best friends are men and always will be but sexually I just wasn't interested in them that way. I found out later in life that I was gay after being married for 17 years and then meeting my soul mate whom we've been together now for 14 years. I've never been happier in my life. I have alot of gay cousins and gay nephews in my family also. You as a heterosexual are not attracted to gay men because that's how you were born, you were born that way...and this is how I was born. There are alot of people out there just curious of the lifestyle and wanting to try it out and play with it. I don't let curious people in my life like that...I know it can be confusing to hear people say they are bi or transexual or gay or lesbian. There are alot of different types of gay people just like there are vegetarians..there are 7 types of vegetarians. It's personal preference. Alot of men think lesbians are men haters. Some might be because they were molested as children by men. I don't hate men, they still today are the one's I prefer to be friends with, they don't stab you in the back like women do...when I say women I mean femmies. I'm friends with tomboyish girls and men both gay and straight. I'm a femmie, I'm considered a lipstick lesbian because I wear lipstick and makeup and am very femmie. You wouldn't be able to tell I'm gay if you met me. I hate it when I'm asked if you could be straight would you want to be...At this point no because I finally found my happiness but if I was straight and lived in a gay relationship for 17 years and found my heterosexual soul mate then I would have found happiness there. Now tell me this. Why is it that men love watching women together in porn flicks but when it comes down to us wanting to spend our lives with other women they become threatened and bash us?

I'm going with genetic. Not only is there people who's homosexual but there's people who's bisexual which means they have an attraction to men and women. I think the outter shell of the body has nothing to do with what makes people attracted to one another.

it is really about labels and id. human beings have a topic with those who say they are Christian and gay or gay. To maximum folk you're figuring out with 2 conflicting labels. So what are you? A training Christian who has gay inclinations, or a training gay who has Christan inclinations? the alternative is the same as with all sin... both you follow the temptation, or you follow God's printed will almost about it. it isn't any diverse than someone who needs to thieve. they could have the urge and want, yet they ought to discipline themselves now to not act upon it. Christians can come to a decision your having temptations. They do too. it is in residing after the flesh, rather of for God, that they'll locate demanding to settle for. maximum folk, Christian or no longer, locate it no longer in difficulty-free words morally incorrect, yet will react with disgust and loathing on the very idea. it is regardless of the media barrage and agenda to "desensitize" those who're no longer gay. those who've offered into the "politically staggering" agenda and way of questioning will come to a decision your accurate to do as you need, as will maximum Christians. they in basic terms received't carry you to blame on your movements for worry of being categorized bigot, illiberal or hateful. A Christian will, because of their love for you and God. edit: The bf idea? this is like putting your toe in the water before jumping in. no longer an outstanding flow...

I think they are born that way. do you remember as a kid, there was another kid you thought just wasn't right for some reason? Then years later after you've grown up, that kid you knew then is now gay.
A person cannot be made gay. it's "hardwired" while still in the mother's womb.....just my 2 cents worth.
