Hi,

I'm a Filipina from the Philippines just got married and I'm here in USA just 2 years ago. There are two best cellular company provider in our country one is SMART and the other is GLOBE. You can have two choices which I can give you their website and read the information on each site.

Go to this websites some of them offer free shipping to other places in the Philippines:

1). http://www.cellularabroad.com/philippinesppsc.php
2) http://www1.globe.com.ph/default.aspx

As to cellphone unit I can give you the website NOKIA which is the leading cellular unit in the Philippines, go to this website:

3) http://www.nokia.com.ph

As for my advise to you if you want to buy somebody a cellphone in the Philippines (Cebu) just buy her a cellular unit and she can buy a prepaid card and a sim card to load on her phone whenever she uses it. Some other company provides cellphone and at the same time calling services which is too much expensive.

I myself, I have a cellphone when I was in the Philippines I just bought it second hand from a retail store and prepaid card is very convenient and practical ways to use because I want to save money for monthly bills plus I know exactly the amount I'm going to pay or use up calls per minute so as to limit myself on calling inside Philippines (domestic/local call) or outside abroad (international call).

Just buy her a cellular unit and asked her if she can afford to buy prepaid cellular card (smart buddy or globe prepaid cellular card - use to call or text locally and internationally).

Two years ago when I was in the Philippines the cost of prepaid card is 300 pesos (P300.00) which is $6.00 dollars a month I don't know now exactly how much is the cost of prepaid cards because of high cost of prices now the Philippines. That 300 pesos I can call internationally from Philippines to USA for only 15 minutes.

Then if you want to call somebody from US to the Philippines you can just log in to http://www.tipidtalk.com. (A prepaid phone card calling to the Philippines it's just only 12 cents per minute.

As for me, now I'm using tipidtalk.com (prepaid phone card like..HELLO ASIA phone card) to call my family in the Philippines. Just follow the instructions or you can call or email their customer service on how to use the prepaid phone/cellular card.

Hope it will help you.

God Bless and Good Luck,
Zettesu

P.S. I'm from Angeles City, Philippines and my country is very beautiful and nice country especially for resort and beach places, and beautiful attraction for tourist spots. I know you see it for yourself. Hope you have a nice vacation. Enjoy!!!!

Im also US and to the Phils. often. I bought one phone just for use in the Phils. and my US phone. To get aplan to use the same phone in both countries was unreal ( 2 years ago). I use Nokia in the Phils, Im not sure but I know my phone will use Smart, Globe or whatever sim card and load I buy. I would say buy the phone in the Phils. you will get a way better deal, and theyre all made in the same place anyway1
