I am planning a baby shower for a friend. We need some ideas for games and favors for the guests.

The water-break game: buy some tiny plastic babies, stick them in the ice trays, filling each cube about 3/4 of the way full. Give each guest a frozen baby and a clear cup. The first one to have their baby emerge from the ice, wins. Baby bottle bowling is fun too. Just be sure to put a little water in each bottle and use a tennis ball. Good prizes are anything girly. We went to the dollar store and bought bubble bath. Our theme was rubber ducks so I also purchased some rubber duck bath confetti, rubber duck bath sponges, and baby rubber ducks. I went online and found tiny rubber duck keychains. The shower was decorated with blue and clear ballooons to look like soap bubbles and we also had a bubble machine. The punch was the blue Hawaiian punch with rubber ducks floating in it. We had yellow and blue streamers hung from the ceiling. I also found a giant rubber duck for the present table. I purchased small small silver tubs to look like the old fashioned bath tubs, made blue candles with clear marbles on top and stuck tiny ducks in them as well. I wore a yellow polka dotted shirt...lol...I love a theme.

This is a good game...As each guest arrives, give them 5 bracelets. String or ribbon with a small baby charm attached will do. Instruct each guest that they are not to say the word BABY. Each time they are caught saying BABY, they have to forefeit one of their bracelets to the person who caught them saying BABY. The mother-to-be is exempt. The person at the end of the shower with the most bracelets wins a prize. We played this at my shower and my cousin's and we had a blast! The prizes were a needle point pillow with a cute saying (sorry, can't remember the saying) and a really nice picture frame. For favors my cousin came up with a cute idea. Purchase small picture frames, one for each guest. Go on a baby name website to get the meanings of the names of your guests. In each frame put the guests name and their meaning. Everyone loved it! Have fun!

I was just at a baby shower and they got a package of newborn diapers and had everyone write an encourageing message on them. Each person was given a couple diapers and a perminent marker to write something encourageing for those wee morning changings when mommy and daddy are so tired. I thought is was such a great idea. I'm going to do it at a shower i'm planning for my friend in a few months. Hope this helps.
I wrote on my two diapers.. "I love you too" and " I won't poop this much forever"

There is one really cool game....get a roll of toilet tissue....as the guests arrive, have them take the length they think it will take to exactly go around the mommy-to-be's belly....once everyone arrives, start testing the strips....whoever has a strip the closest to her belly circumference wins a prize.....and for fun, make it a package of toilet tissue!!! That's one, another is to give each person a slip of paper to help name the baby. Each person puts their name in a hat and the mommy-to-be must guess who put in what name....If she gets any right, that person wins a prize....you can also use your imagination....you'd be surprised the great ideas you can come up with...have fun and good luck!!

Try Wal-mart to make your own favors. They pretty much have everything you can use. Some websites have over-priced favors. the best most gross game i can think of is the dirty diaper game what you do is buy 5 to 6 chocolate candy bars and melt them, put the melted candy bar in a numbered diaper and have the guest smell and/or taste the candy to figure out what kind of candy it is.
