Your question does not make it clear to which knob you are referring -- a door knob or a knob for a stero. Well in both cases the size will depend. A big door knob is handy while a big knob for a stero will enable you to have four mixes simultaneously.
In case you are slyly pointing to another 'knob' there are no hard and fast or standardised dimensions. These are highly individualstic preferences and can be arrved at only through actual practice. The size need not normally worry anybody. In fact, worrying about its size is a perversion. Suffice it if it fits in the groove. Somebody had just a wee bit knob but it fitted in the hole quite perfectly and it went well. Also unlike the other knobs referred to above this 'knob' tends to blow up in size once it is inserted and adjusts itself to the size of the hold big or small and when not in use it returns to its normal size.
how bigs my knob?
Hope the above makes the position clear. The long and short is that you should not be overworked in the matter by tall claims of others about the size of their knobs which in many cases are quite exaggerated. Also do not consult treatises on the subject prescribing various methods to enhance the size of the knob to almody horse size. They normally end in disaster.

You have to be able to get your hand around the knob, so that should give you a good idea.

four letters so approximatley 4 bytes of ram. if your are talking physical dimensions then about 0.25 cm per letter would equate to 1 cm in length but of course this would depend on your resolution. alternatley if your talking about your todger...prolly the same. buy some tweezers and a magnifying glass have a good time.
