How do you tell if someone is a witch? How do you kill a witch? By the way, I don't believe in witches. It's for an English story. Please only serious answers. I really need help here!

First this is not one of the best question you could have ask. you can not tell who is a witch is unless they want you to know. It is a belief and a way of life but they are people just as everyone else. you have your religion they have theirs. you should do your on research for your answer I am sorry that there are people like you that do not understand other peoples beliefs.

When the witch hysteria began that started the Salem Witch trials, there were a few ways to find a witch. The first way was to examine them for any unusual markings such as birthmarks or moles. The second way was to poke them with a needle and if they didn't bleed, they were considered witches. The third way was a technique called "swimming a witch". They had their wrists tied to their ankles and were thrown into a lake or river. If they floated, they were considered witches.

Back in the mediaevel days over here in the UK we had a failsafe method.
We tied the suspect to a ducking stool - and ducked them under the water of the village pond for a given time.
If they did not drown they were obviously a witch and we burned them at the stake.
If they did drown - they had proven themselves to be absolutely innocent!!
Consequently there are no witches in the UK as their were none left to pass on the genes.

I, unfortunatly, am related by decendancy to Cotton Mather of Salem Town, MA.
First understand that western europeans were just shedding the igornance of the dark ages. very slowly to. Witches were hunted in Europe since the fall of the Roman empire in the late 3rd century. Anyone that understood the use of herbs for healing, or was just misunderstood risked being called a witch.

I think that reverends girls said the witches casted a spell on them that made them sick.

do a search on salem witch trials, they burned women who they believed to be witches in salem, eventho they really didn't have proof.

Witches generally wear pentacles around there neck, and you don't kill them. Killing us is just as illegal as killing a Jew or a Christain!
