Why- too lazy to hand wash it yourself? You should always hand wash anything that is precious to you, expensive, etc.

even the worst glass ware suffers from the dishwasher. If you care about your Princess House stuff, wash it by hand.
Glass washed in dishwasher gets permanently cloudy and often breaks, particularly stem ware.

you should never wash any crystal in the dishwasher. the speed at which the water throws the particles pits and scratches the crystal..it can do this to your regular glasses and dishes too.
