A performance tire is for racing and stupid car tricks. A touring tire is for general use, especially for cruising along on long trips. As for what is best for the Camaro, depends on how you plan to use the car. But be sure the tire you get meets the recommended specs of the car's manufacturer, and then you can exceed the specs if you feel you need to.

I'm not a pro but I would think the performance tire is for high speeds, great in the corners but hard on rough roads. Touring tires would have a softer ride.

"Performance" tires are for heavy use. "Touring" tires are more for urban use. Since you probably live in a city drive the average roads you should go with the whichever is cheaper. I recommend 4-day tire stores. Tires are mainly rated according to their mileage expectance and not necessarily brand. Shop around and ask whether installation and balancing are included.

a performance tire is made for high-speed and manuvering. A touring tire is made for comfort and smootheness on the road.,
Just like the difference from a good man and a bad man. A performance man is for make you feel good and a touring man is for showing-off(a pretty-boy)

Performance tires are made of a softer compound for "grip" when needed in high speed cornering and such. Touring tires are made of a harder compound and provide a nicer ride and usually will last longer.
