Where I live, you're supposed to blow them onto the lawn as mulch. You can actually get a ticket for blowing them in the street. If you have a mulcher on your mower, you don't have this problem. Also, if you mow in the right pattern, you can avoid getting the clippings in the street.

To be a GOOD NEIGHBOR and keep you and your property LOOKING GREAT...
the FIRST SWIPE or TWO with the lawn mower SHOULD blow the clippings back onto your OWN Property...not into the street or onto the neighbors property.

If it gets in the street, by all means CLEAN IT UP the same day - so your property and adjoining neighbors' properties don't look bad. What if ALL the neighbors did that?
The whole block would look TACKY!

I pick up most of them and put them in those compost bags.
I felt bad when i noticed i left a bunch of clippings in the street, but lots of people do that, and the wind and rain blows them away, fugedaboudit

Into a pile then sweep them up . . . use them to reseed your lawn by spreading clippings evenly over your lawn, put them in a compost pile or put them in a green waste barrel . . . or, you could just throw 'em away (lol).
