well it would look pretty weird if he wears a purple shirt and you a green dress, but usually guys keep their colors pretty neutral so you can wear whatever you see fit, if you don't want a green/purple disaster just ask him what he's going to wear and work around it. but don't over do it! you don't want to end up looking like twins that's just as weird.

Are you saying having you and your date wear matching clothes? I think it wouldnt be a good idea. But that is just me and the style from where i live

yes, it would be better for you and your date to match. it looks more together and less tacky than if you have on peach and your date brown or lavender, or something like that. mose dates at homecoming don't match though, so in my opinion, either way is fine as long as you're both groomed.

How close are you to this guy? If you're close (or want to be), I highly suggest matching his accessories to your dress. It makes you look more like a couple!

I don't know exactly since I don't go to your school, but talk to some of your friends and see what they're doing. Wear what you want to wear.
