When I see an old friend, they put their hand on their nose and smile. What does it mean?

When I see an old friend, they put their hand on their nose and smile. What does it mean? Am I supposed to do it back? So when someone sneezes near them I do that "sign"? And why do shorter people hold their hands towards their nose when they approaching a taller person? Why do people cough right when I say thank you? And why do people cough when they pass someone walking behind them? When my friends and I agree on the same points they hold their nose and smile. These question has been on my mind for too long to ignore. Thanks. If you can name more things for me to understand, let me know. : )

You are obviously concerned enough to want to change. you could have one of those toxic personalities that enjoy mayhem or a psychopath, that is trying so hard to be nice that one day you'll just vent it horribly or a control freak, who because they feel inadequate, feel they need to dominate all situations and others (these people are usually politicians) or an alpha male ( this is my bet) with alot of testosterone. Dominant male, attractive to some/ threatening to others. Most other people are a blend of hormones, which tones them down. Guys like you are necessary, as I bet you'd be a True Hero, if put in a crisis. I don't know, summising here? The best thing you can do is accept yourself. Work on your strengths and read something on anger management. Which will give you alternative responses when you're feeling angry, defensive or a jerk. All the best.

haha i don't understand what you are talking about. what kind of behaviors are those? i don't know.
i think that your friends are the only ones who does that, so just ask them. =) there is nothing wrong with wanting a simple explanation for strange behavior. hah. there is obviously an inside joke or something that you're on the outside of. asking about it will get you on the inside of it. ;D
