I am scared of them too almost to the point of catatonia but I am getting better these days. I get the usual small ones which I can ignore as long as they don't come near me but I also get huge ones about the size of the palm of my hand every year between June/July and September. With the mild weather this year I am still getting them now unfortunately.

Outdoors spiders won't usually come in on purpose so you probably have house spiders. They will only stay somewhere if they have a food source so you need to get rid of that. It would be things such as flies and tiny bugs that you likely don't see. It doesn't mean your house is dirty as they live in everyone's house but the cleaner you keep your home the better.

You can get spider spray to go around doors, windows, nooks and crannies etc but it really is a strong and disgusting smell .

You could call someone out to check your house for an infestation seen as you are getting an unusually large number of them.

Moving house is drastic and if you decide to do that then plan where you move to carefully as the closer to farmland, grassy areas and general countryside you are the more likely you are to get spiders.

I have a spider catcher which is a trap I can put over the spider, I shut the door and then can hold it at arms length whilst trying not to scream and then I throw them outside - I did read somewhere on the internet that you are not being helpful by putting house spiders outside but I can't kill them... whatever I use to kill them would have to be binned!!!

Probably not much help to be honest because you will always get them no matter what you do but limiting the number of spiders will make your life more comfortable.

I know how you feel, I have the same problem. It is nothing to do with you whether youyr clean or not it's just that it is the time of the year for spiders and there is not much you can do about it I'm.
afraid.

Just don't let them see your afraid of them..tell them to go back down the spout.

Seriously you can trying keeping the plug in your sink and bath. And also sprinkle salt round by the skirting boards and keep your windows shut night and day.

Think of all the flies they are catching.... I know what I would rather have...neither.

Cheers...but never kill a spider remember.

You poor thing. I have the same fear. If that was me I would be hysterical by now.
We have loads of spiders in the loft. Before I cleaned it out I sprayed a whole can of fly spray into it and shut the door for a few hours. It seemed to work.
That night my ten year old son dreamed that the spiders were all coming out of the loft wearing snorkels and laughing at us!

It's the damper weather, it brings them indoors, so I wouldn't bother moving as it wouldn't make much difference.
Maybe you should look to try and overcome your fear as the spiders are not an endangered species.
As a last resort, there are spider control products on the market, though I would rather you went for the former rather than the later, as they are our friends really. Yeah man, love all creatures equally. (only joking there not really a far out freak)

Dont worry about the spiders, they kill the flies, jam jar and a postcard does the job.

Bit drastic, but you could get (or borrow) a cat! Mine eats all the spiders.

There must be a gap where they are coming in, maybe under the sink or behind a cutboard in your kitchen - find it and fill it - also get a cat

I have heard that placing conkers in the corners of the rooms keeps them out as they don't like the smell.

Haven't tried it myself, but worth a go.
