I would suppose for the same reason all the clocks in "Pulp Fiction" are set to 4:20. Just a bit of film irony.

I noticed that but I don't think there's anything behind it. I think his character just liked food! I have a friend who's the same but never puts on weight!! I hate her!! Some people are lucky like that. Joey in Friends used to eat a lot too.
