I'm trying to replace the rear leaf spring shackles on a 95 chevy c/k1500. But I can't get the bolts out. I've tried PB blaster, turning them and hitting them as much as possible with what little swing I can get with a hammer in there, and I've tried pressing them out with a C-clamp. I really don't want to take the bed off. Is there any other way? anyone else done this?

Those bolts get a ridge on them from wear and tear and can be extremely difficult to remove. I use a torch to cut them and replace them with new when I put the new springs in!

Have yo tried jacking up the body to take the weight off the bolts? I assume you have removed the nuts.

The bolts are rusted to the sleeve inside the bushing. Cut the bolts and replace them and the bushings. Helped my nephew do this on his 88 Blazer. We put a lift kit in it 3 years ago and the bolts were rusted to the sleeves. We cut them and replaced the bolts and bushings.

Try heating them 1st,(red hot), if this doesnt do the trick the nyou need to cut them out with a torch or a wizzer. Then put new bolts in.
