DEFINATELY!!!
I was the Homecoming queen last year and it was freezzzzinngg outside. So I wore a nice fur coat until I had to go on the convertible. You should wear a nice jacket, if you dont own one ask your dad, i'm sure he has one. wear it until you have drive around in the converitlbes, then put it back on. Homecoming is a day to enjoy not to freeze ur but off.

no gurl,its only one day and let ur butt freeze off for just this day cuz my aunt was thinking of buying me a coat or jacket and i was like um..no cuz i want everyone to see the dress and i wont feel comfy holding the jacket everywhere pluz my dress is strapless and short,i guess it will not take that long to stand outside but do what plaeaes you so long as ur comfortable,ima have to freeze myself though and i have a cough and mild cold from the homecoming game but oh well.....

You could wear a formal longer coat maybe 3/4 length or full length in a color that would complement the tux. This can be rented at some stores, or your could purchase one. You would not be wasting the money if you wanted to make the purchase, as you will need a dress coat later on.

no, i would definetly not wear a jacket overyour tuxedo! that would make it look kinda.. not fancy ish in a way?! kinda hard to say... but keep up wit the cold for one night!! have fun!

tuxedo jackets are actually warmer than one would think . . .
the other option is a formal long, black coat over the tuxedo, and a white scarf. If you can get cashmere, it's thinner, softer, and warmer than wool.

nah...if it's that cold the where a thin but enough to keep you warm sweater over your undershirt.
