the earth spin on a axis and slightly move which gives us summer and winter and the other 2 being Autumn and spring but the equator is always the closet part to the suns ultra Violet rays and Antarctica and the other one spend 6 months of the year in darkness and then the other 6 in daylight because of the way the world spins on its axis. the further away you get from the sun the colder it gets,so if the sun died the equator wouldn't be the warmest point because everything would be the same tempter which is something like negative 200 degrees and we would all die unless we were all wearing space suits or something or we found another sun out there somewhere.
hope this is enough help.

Close to sun and the sunlight hits the earth at close to 90 degrees, at the poles the sunlight hits the earth at shallow angle and is thus spread over a larger area.

It stays pointed at the sun more all of the time rather than tilting like the poles do.

Because that is where the earth is widest. Our planet is an ellipse and the equater is the "fattest" part. It is closer to the sun during rotation than the poles are.

sun rays falls directly on equator which makes it the hotest part of the earth. But you know something? in afternoon, weather on equator is really hot but in evening it rains too much. this happens everyday
