The heater yields no warm air. It blows, but it's cold. What could it possibly be?

Possible causes are low coolant level, bad thermostat, bad heater control valve, blender door inoperable, clogged heater core. Start with the obvious. check coolant level. If good, remove the T-Stat, put it inside boiling water. It should open up, if not, replace defective thermostat.
good luck...

Its most likely that it is so low in coolant that there is none in the heater core or possibly thermostat is stuck open . check or add coolant and if still no warm air suspect the thermostat .(an air lock can develope if the coolant is that low so you have to make sure that the system is "bled" of air )You should get at least slightly warm air after car warms up all the way even if thermostat is stuck open . replace if bad. Also possible that the hot /cold control switch is bad .usually that is a mechanical lever and will feel odd if bad . good luck

Either the thermostat ot the ball valve that allows the hot coolant to flow in the heater hose line isn't opening. Also, check your coolant level to make sure it's where it is supposed to be. ( low coolant level will cause same problem) For the thermostat, warm up the engine and see if the top hose is hot or cold. If cold or just warm the thermostat isn't opening and needs to be replaced. You can basically use the same principle on the two heater hoses to see if they are both hot. If not, the ball valve isn't opening and needs to be replaced. (Could be the vacuum line is off the valve also)

First check the coolant level, if it is low on coolant it will not supply heat. If it is full of coolant then it might have a bad heater control valve or blend air door in the heater case.

It could be a number of things.First check the engine thermostate, hearter control valve, vacuum hose.

Any of these can cause the heater not to get warm of hot.

check for proper amount of coolant in radiator. also make sure valve is open in the heater hose to allow circulation in the heater core.
