I removed with difficulty the bolts on the flange under my muffler system but the flange is frozen and rusted tight. How can I get this flange off? thanks mary marysride58@yahoo.com

A little more ifo please.
Are you talking of the flange that comes from the exhaust manifold? Or is there some other flange in the system ?
A flange under my muffler doesn't say much.
If it's the manifold flange be careful with wedges and hammers, manifolds can be easily broken.
Heat is a good answer but be careful with a torch, lots of wires and such can be damaged.I would cut / disconnect the exhaust system at the nearest point and remove the manifold and then free the frozen part.

Take a chisel and hammer and start to try to seperate the two. Spray it real good with Super Pen. Give that a shot and see what happens.
