3 seasons, from fall of 1966 through spring of 1969

It went for three years of its five year mission. However, it was canceled 3/4 of the way through the 3rd season. Their are a total of 72 episodes of the show.
It was not initially popular due to the fact it was shown during the late afternoon when (at that time in history) most "housewives" were watching soap operas.
It was not until the show went into syndication that it became popular since by then it was shown at night. Since most of the stars of the program were relative new comers to TV (except Leonard Nimoy) none of the cast made any money off the re-runs. William Shatner often complains that he was internationally famous but broke.

I sure hope they don't come out with a new Enterprise. I love Star Trek, but Enterprise really sucked. TNG is the best.

Five years, I do believe it was from 1967 to 1972 but not positive on that.

CORRECTION: it was aired for three years, here's a link.
