I don't see a point to them( no pun intended)...I do like when I get chosen for best answer but I would still come here even if there was no rating system and no point system

After you get to level 5 and can do anything you want, what difference does it make? I can't seem to get a copy of the prize catalogue anyway!

The points are useless,
but it does make me mad to get a question yanked
and lose those points for no good reason
