This is based on the average life range of any species of mammal. The fossil record shows that each species of mammal lasts for around 2.5 million years. The reason has to do with the orbit of the earth and the fact that about every 2.5 million years the earth moves further away from the sun causing a rapid cooling leading to a sever ice age that wipes out most life upon this planet. As for the day and month prediction thats just more of a random guess and halloween must have sounded good.

It could be true, but even if there was evidence, why bother? It is too too far away anyways plus it might also not be true. However, if you're a guy, scientists also say that guys will cease to exist in 100,000 ( one hundred thousand ) years due to how reproduction of girls is going on. So don't worry about it, but have you wondered sometimes why there are more girls in school than guys?

YOU won't be around (or your next 20 generations of grandchildren), so what do you care? WHERE do you get your source of total and absolute misinformation... the Enquirer? Go back to those supposed scientists and tell that that they miscalculated by 2 days, 5 hours and 7 minutes with about 32 seconds according to MY calculations. I just confirmed it with my 6-foot tall friend, the giant rabbit, Harvey!

Why not. I don't think it will bother us whether they are right or wrong. Having said that, I cannot believe any reputable scientist would ever make such a ridiculous statement.

by natural and manmade disasters.
according to Terrance Mackenna,Nostradamus,the Mayas,Egyptians and probably Jesus as well amongst many others
there are two ocasions when extinction of a species is most likely,
that is when there are to few ,and when there are too many

nope...but i heard that the earth will explode if the sun gets any closer to our atmosphere. should we believe that?
if we do go extinct, it'll probably be from natural disasters, or global warming in which we have part in creating.
