I came out last April 2005, and since then, more and more girls are being my friends. The guy level is going down, I guess. I am black and that even puts a bigger burden on me because I have to be the typical "straight" and most of my family.

It's really based on prefrences and beliefs on to whether it's "wrong" or not...

Well congratulations. Many ignorant people do say it's bad, many people could hate people for being gay, but if you are, and your life is flourishing, and you're doing good, then it sounds like it's not so bad. Some people's families are terrible to them, some people do lose a lot of friends.. I have loved girls all of my life, my first everything was with a girl.(but I did find one guy, so I got married... lucky on that one) I never came out, because I'm not into that gay/straight/bi labeling thing, love is love, you know?, but I dated the wrong guy's sister in highschool and got jumped frequently, and even a baseball bat to the face, some people have it rough when people find out, but rise above those people and just live happy.

ps. Watch out for activist southern baptists. they ruin god/life for EVERYONE... Ignore them.. haha they suck

That's right, God made no mistakes. You are who he made you to be. Just keep being yourself, baby.

Being gay is not a bad thing at all! I'm very proud of you for coming out, because I know that's very hard to do. There are a lot of pressures to be straight, but just hold your head up high and be who you really are. Your family will come to accept you in due time.

Despite the cherished prejudices of fundamentalist and conservative fantasy, sexual orientation, like gender and race, is not and never has been a "choice".

How, regardless of place or era, would people go about choosing, much less changing their sexual orientation? When and in which schools, churches or homes have children been taught and then sent off to thoughtfully consider the nebulous subtleties of making such a pivotal decision? "Mommy, should I be a boyfriend or a girlfriend? See, I still don't know if I wanna be 'hetero' or 'bi' or 'homo'. How'd you and Grandma choose? Did you look on the Internet?"

Gender, race, and sexual orientation: you are what you are.

Nothing's wrong with being Gay! It's what you choose: You are your own person. You can make your own decisions. Who cares what people think? They don't realize that true love could be any gender, any nationality, any race, any anything!
Love is Love.
And girls can;t be Gay, they can only be lesbian. But anyway, we all know what you mean. :)

being gay aint bad. you are who you are. ur sexual prefernce doesnt define u as a person. sterotypes are just plain rude and dumb. ppl who judge u dont know you or anything in that matter. but you cant blame the person who is judgiing cuz most of the time its the way they are raised. just keep ur head high and dont worry cuz u know who u really are and so do ur loved ones =o)

No, I believe sexuality is innate, I tried being straight during adolescence and didn't come out until i was 23. I thought it would be easier, but I was just lying to myself!

No, there's nothing wrong with it at all! I am happy that you came out and had no problems. Seeing as I am bisexual myself, it would be odd for me not to support gay rights.
