At my school I get teased a lot. Some kids find it entertaining that I go for girls. They call me carpetmuncher, dyke, freak, sinner, unnatural and say that I must be rape girls, which is rediculous because girls almost never rape other girls or boys for that matter, girls are in much more danger from men and boys than lesbians. Some kids think it is just a riot that my mom is Hispanic and my dad is not. I get called half-blood a lot. Some kids find it very entertaining that I read books that are not childish teen novels. Apparenly prefering Edgar Allen Poe, Lovecraft and Anne Rice to the Princess Diaries is evil. Do you have some advice on how to deal with these fools?

My last name was a point of ridicule when I was in school and the only way I learned to get through it was through humor.
If they start teasing you go along with it. They'll soon get tired of it and leave you alone. If you can develop your own style of humorous comeback , you'll find that you will attract more friends.
We should all learn to laugh at ourselves a little more often. Taking things too seriously can make you miserable.
By the way. When it comes to your sexual preference. It ain't no body's business but yours. But since it's out... tease them back.

Your reading material indicates your a lot more mature than you fellow students. So , cut them some slack, they'll grow up.

Well I have never understood how someone could be attracted to someone of the same sex as them but I have found that no matter what anyone likes to read or do intellectually its becomes a problem dont pay any mind to it and don't let anyone physically harm you. Verbal ridicule from peers is humiliating but they are either jealous of your intelect or the fact that your true to yourself and to what you like. You should also never dumb yourself down for the people at school or anywhere else. And there is no such thing as a "half-blood" your human you have parents and no matter your race be proud of where you come from.

No, but there is nothing wrong with being gay, or well read for that matter.

As an adult you will meet ppl who are better educated because of life.

Children are cruel, as they know no better.

Give it time sweetheart, all will be well in your world soon.
