I have a pretty close to perfect office. It is large and has a big window and 2 doors. I work at a separate location from my direct boss, and the people in my building work out in the field all day so they are in and out and sometimes it is nice and quiet. I can listen to whatever music I want, or turn the lights off and have only natural light if I want. I have my own coffeemaker, radio, and fan, and my phone doesn't have voicemail so I never have to deal with messages!
I don't make a heck of a lot (work for local government)...but I couldn't ask for a better office environment :)

I'm stuck in a cubicle and my current company's colors of choice, Basic Blue walls with bright Stop-Sign Red laminate trim and White surfaces .. the walls are painted in the same 3 colors and the carpet is all blue. It's veeeery booring and it's a call center. My perfect office is a corner window view in a skyscraper that is about the size of a studio apartment or so. white or light color walls and some window blinds so that I can block out the sun when needed. And it must have a good Macintosh computer very minimalist I am. I prefer wood and glass. and rich leather. Maybe a british barrister's classical style study/office would be sweet!! something I could hide a page boy under.. ROFL

I'm a retired teacher and never had a cubicle. Just plenty of kids to keep me young. I don't think I could survive a job with a routine and a cubicle. A class room can be a zoo and teaching high school Art for 27 years I can say this with authority first hand. I now substitute teach and my favorite age group is K-1 grades. Thanks for the email and Matt Dillon is a cool and reserved dude.

I work in a cubicle but I've made it as homey as possible with photos of my kids and nephews, flowers, a cute lamp, artwork and a couple of small stuffed animals that sit on top of my monitor. My perfect office would be a corner office with a view of the beach and if I open the windows I can hear the waves crashing onshore.

We have cubicles, but I'm the boss, so mine is next to the window. My perfect office would be an island somewhere, Caribbean, South Pacific with lots of dusky maidens running around.
