yes, they should. people should be allowed to do simple things to declare their faith as much as they want. as long as they aren't shoving anything down anyones throat, then if someone else is offeneded, its their problem.

Absolutely! Would there have been an uproar if she was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers t-shirt? An M&M's charm bracelet? A Concordia Lutheran College class ring? Would there be such an uproar if she had worn Nike gym shoes with the Nike logo emblazoned on the side? What if she had a key chain sporting a Chevrolet logo?

well, for one thing she was not a flight attendant. she was a check in agent. anyway, they all wear uniforms and some companies, airlines especially, have very strict standards for how their uniforms are worn. a necklace with a cross on it can be worn underneath the uniform - perhaps she refused to do this. perhaps the cross was unusually large and distracting. it seems there is more to this story than what the media is reporting. there is no way to hide a headress, but a necklace?

I should think you should be able wear a cross if you kept it inside your blouse. If it were hanging loose, it might get in the way and be considered unhygienic when you are serving food and beverages. Nurses are not permitted to wear jewelry for this reason.

Why should it matter? As an agnostic myself, I find religious symbols and such just as I find religion, they are using it for a crutch. It doesn't mean anything at all. It's just a piece of gold or silver, it might as well be a peace sign, as it has no meaning other than that.

I'm not christian but I think that it's fine. I mean it's their faith and they should be able to express it openly. and even more so if their job is something that could be dangrous.
