I've been offered a job as an Inclusion Aid to help a student with special needs. The job is at a private school in California and the pay is $14 per hour. Is this the normal hourly rate for this type of work in CA? On average is this low or high?

It really depends on if the school is located in an urban, suburban, or rural school district. Experience and degree level also influence the pay rate, too. In addition, no two school districts pay the same salary rate because it is dependent upon what is negotiated with the unions. For example, it ranges in the Los Angeles area from $18,720 to $27,040 a year based on experience.
