I was thinking about this yesterday, and I think it's true to some extent, I suppose when people are younger they are looking for things, i.e. other people to share their lives with, compare themselves with, etc. and as we grow older people are pairing off, so there are less people looking. I hope though that we do not become invisible, just less needy - in terms of being looked at.

I've always been invisible, especially to waiters in restaurants. Not when I ask for the menu, but after that - forget it. Can't order, can't order a dessert, can't order coffee and can't even order the bill. If I get more invisible maybe I really will be able to sneak out without paying. I mean people shrink in old age and I was only 5ft. 2" to start with. Of course, I have to say that I have long legs for my height, which means that when I sit down I do virtually disappear.

Actually, the wider we become, the more noticeable we are to those who have nothing better to do than comment on the fact. Otherwise, we often do seem invisible to those who figure our credibility and perhaps marketability went out the door when the weight came in. Bottom line -- you find out how many of your friends are really not your friends and how biased they can really be.

Well, I think Sophia Loren and Harrison Ford might disagree with you. Some people, as they age, become more interesting and more inner beauty begins to show. Age has nothing to do with being invisable or not.

Invisible? No, the right word is dispensable. And yes, it becomes apparent to adults that they are expected to move over as they age.

You become invisible in life when you do not make a positive and active influence on your life and others. You do not have to be OLD.

It is more like, beginning the process of stripping away from all that is life by going backwards in a way and closer to that in which you originated from. Yes, you are correct, my friend.
