If the government called the draft?

I just wondered, some people, like muslims might refuse to sign up. Also people such as minorities might refuse. What do you think should happen?

They can refuse or go to jail. Or move to Canada. Your choice. I don't think we will be so forgiving this time around. Enjoy your 70% tax rate. Why would Canada want a bunch of losers up there though. So Canada may just throw your worthless asses back over the border.

Well, 80% of the people who are drafted do not fight. And, the people that do fight aren't on the front lines. Therefore, it is unlikely that many Muslims and other minorities would be drafted if the draft went into effect. If ant were chosen to serve and refused, they could file for conscientious objector, and then, if the military thinks it is acceptable, they will let the person go. about half of the people who file for conscientious objector are let go. If they didn't let the person go and they still refused, then they could be sent to jail after a trial. Hope that this helps.

This will be no different than early '70s viet nam People will dodge the draft, burn their draft cards in public. I was in the '71 lottery for the draft. What a farce. Thousands with a small number joined other branches of the service.. So not to be drafted into the Army. So many joined, they didn't have to draft any one. I got a big number (322) Been partying ever since.. People who dodge the draft, run or what ever.. Should not be allowed back into the U.S. Read up on "The Execution of pvt. Slovik"..

yeah thats where these people show there true colours i dont really agree with the war and would never volunteer because anyone that does that in this day and age is a fool but if i was called up i wouldnt have any excuses id do my bit even if it is for this **** hole of a country ,like you say about minorities like muslims would refuse and theyed be let off the hook while the rest of us would have to eat **** also there more likely to go and fight for the other side,makes me laugth the other week there is a muslim in the armed police right and he wouldnt keep guard out side the israeli embassy he actually had the audacity to say no im not doing that and they didnt make him now shawley it shouldnt matter what your views are in the police you just do your job no,its ridiculous how are all people suposed to be equal in this country when crap like that is going on.

out of luck in December 2001 Ottawa signed a "smart border declaration" with Washington. Designed in part to prevent draft dodgers from once again finding sanctuary, the declaration includes a 30-point plan which implements a "pre-clearance agreement" of people entering and departing each country.

Which government are you referring to?

If you are referring to the Federal government (America) then I would imagine people would refuse to sign up. Especially since the validity of U.S. military presence in Iraq is questionable.

I'm not sure the refusals would be greater in any one group of people. I think American's as a whole are fed up w/ the lies from the politicians; lies that have cost many American lives.

The whole concept of a draft is criminal...so rich fat *** pollies can sit back in the war room sippin martini's and drinkin'diet coke while they they send the troop fodder to die in order to make themselves richer. No wonder humanity is in such a sorry state when ideas like these are still in the air.

The Muslims would be refusing as they are cowards and traitors and don't give a shite about the UK. They only see theselves as "British" when social security benefits are on the plate or they are accused of terrorism. The rest of the time they are proud Muslim Pakistanis/Bangladeshis etc and full of all that "Death to the West" stuff. They'd be joining up with the enemy.

The government already requires that men to sign up for Selective Service. There are laws and punishments already existing. The government should enforce those laws if and when the draft is called for.

If the government called the draft. We would have a bunch of drug abusing young men, who have had the world handed to them on a silver platter, trying to fight like real men.. sad but true.. Our youth today is worthless. They are used to Mommy and Daddy making sure they have everything and don't appreciate anything. They never had to work for anything: therefore, it would be up to the older men to fight.
