What are your professional and personal (please make the distinction in your answer) opinions of vigilantes who carefully orchestrate their actions in order to nullify the threat posed by individual violent criminals within their own communities, without any negative effect upon the innocent population or undue media attention apart from that generated by their deeds?

EG, vigilantes who remain anonymous yet keep to a strict moral code (no collateral damage) and behave as professionally as one in that role can.

You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If
you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you on death row!

Coppers don't like vigilantes, don't you know it's a closed shop, they feel threatend because we wouldn't need them anymore.
