I LOVE english!!! Lit is my passion and I want to take english/creative writing courses when I'm in college. I'm not interested in science or math and the only other subject I'm good at is history. I really want to study english but I can't figure out what careers I could do with it, besides being a writer or a teacher, and those aren't very well paying or stable jobs. any ideas?

Actually, with an English degree, you will actually be as marketable as any other major. The majority of CEO's of Fortune 500 companies are actually English Majors.

This can be attributed to the fact that a good literary sense, and specifically, the appreciation of language itself, are integral to the cultivation of power, and the general enlightenment of self. "Critical thinking", in high school seems to just be some phrase you read in English books, but study a little more, and it becomes the most important aspect of your professional adult life.

Love English?

Pursue it to your heart's content.

This country will always need its english majors...
