My system restore can only go back to a certain time, is it possible to change the checkpoints?

My system restore does not give an option of choosing my own date for restoration (that is, a day ago), it gives me today's date and earlier time....can I change it?

You can only restore to restore points that have already been set. You can change your restore point frequency.

Don't worry about yesterday. If going back to yesterday fixes a problem, then going back two weeks would, too.

only buy loading a new xp operating system.
