im about to buy a pc with an intergrated video card. just double checking, but it is possible to eventually upgrade to a agp slot video card and disable the intergrated one, right?

Yes absolutely it is possible, as I did with my first computer. You can go into Device Manager and disable the old card after you install the new one. The new one will probably be recognized as your primary display driver anyways. All you need is an available PCI slot and you're good to go!

what u said is possible on most motherboards, except on a few. i know for sure that intel 845gvsr doesn't support an AGP, there may be others like that. just check up on this before u buy. if there is an agp slot on ur motherboard, then u can disable the on-board video card in favor of an agp card.

agp cards are better than pci and a little more pricey and you donot need to disable the on board video slot just install the new one and it is auto set as default. if you are buying a new computer i dont recommend upgrading the grafix card, it should be suficiant enough even for gaming

personally i would get one with at least an agp slot and preferrable a 16X pci express slot .... bargain pcs' sometimes do not have the slots to upgrade so you need to verify that first.
