Prue died in season 3 or 4 (never paid too much attention to the season) - Just before the "unknown sister was discovered". It was demon caused - but you have to watch to find out all.........

Season 3, last episode "All Hell Breaks Loose"

Shax the source's hitman attacks all three sisters. The reason is not revealed untill Charmed Again (1) in season 4. Aparently (although we don't see it) Leo only had time to heal Piper and Pheoebe before Prue died.

On May 17, 2001, Prue was killed by Shax, a demonic assassin sent by the Source. (Series 3, Episode 21). Each of the sisters die at several points in the series, with Piper and Phoebe dying nine times each, Paige dying seven times, and Prue dying three times. Except for Prue's death in the third season finale, the protagonists always find a way to return the respective Halliwells back to life. At the end of the third season, Shannen Doherty left the show, resulting in her character's death, and the introduction of Rose McGowan's character Paige. While in the episode, "Death Takes a Halliwell" the Angel of Death foreshadowed Prue's death, "All Hell Breaks Loose" (the season three finale) remained as a cliffhanger and Prue's death is only established in the season four premiere episode. When Prue uses her powers against an innocent - the crazy witch wannabe Alice Hicks - she sets into motion a series of events that culminate in her own death: Alice kills Piper; to save Piper, Phoebe agrees to the Source's demand that she stay in the Underworld while Tempus reverses time; and because Phoebe isn't there to save Prue and Piper when Shax attacks, Prue dies. Also, as this was Shannen Doherty's final episode, she also directed it; making it the third episode that she had directed.

prue dying never really had an explaination i cannot remember exactly which ep but it was the one with that windy grey haired guy it ends with prue on the floor and says to be continued. the next episode starts witht them going to her funeral and paige coming in. The reason it wasnt too "specific" was because prue was having an affair with pipers real life husband so she had to go (sl*g)

i think it's the 4th or 5th season..the end of it. piper and prue both die but supposedly leo can only save one so he save piper. it's a really powerful demon that comes barging into the home, you can find the episode on youtube.com im sure. it was such a good show

i dont remember exactly which episode, and my memory if fuzzy, but im pretty sure that prue had 2 identities or something like that, and she was on her bad side and she was fighting with someone..hope that helped.otherwise u can search "charmed episodes" on google, and it will come up
