He could distinguish himself from his father by calling himself George Bush jr.
This would be correct, but perhaps he is not very self confident and fears, that jr. sounds like a symbol of incompetence.
He therefore distinguishes himself from his father by using his middle name, something his father did not do. This is also correct. Viewing his 6 years in office, one must say that they are a greater sign of incompetence than a jr. ever could have been.

He's not a Junior. His father's name is George Herbert Walker Bush. The current Bush in the White House is George Walker Bush without the Herbert. For him to be a Junior, he would have to have the Herbert in his name. So, he's just George Walker Idiot ****** Bush.

He's not a junior. A junior has the same exact first, middle and last name as the father. The current Bush doesn't have Herbert as one of his middle names, the father does.
