Yes it is. I live there and 80% of it is doing fine. There are still some MAJOR renovations to do, but commercially and residentially, it's getting there. Better than 6 months ago!

Although I'm not a NO resident, I know a few and the city isn't nearly back on it's feet....at least not to the point where it was pre-Katrina. Some people have just decided not to come back; others who have are still dealing with getting their homes repaired. The economy has suffered and is slowly coming back; and all the schools aren't yet operating again.

The french quarter is fine But the 9th ward (residental mainly)is still a huge mess
