What is your opinion about the teenage girl who posted kill bush on her myspace? She was questioned by secret service and said they were to harsh on her. Just like anything else if you do the crime, be able to pay the time type thing. If you make a comment threatening a political figures life, be prepared for a little harsh talk.

When you work were I work you have lots of free time! So you gotta read all the different news sites!
Free speeche yes, but when you are saying kill so and so that is a little different. If she had said kill so and so in another country don't you think the punishment would have been much worse than a little talking to?

Only a freshman? What kind of statement is that? Terrorist train 'em younger than that. I'm not saying they were to easy on her, but just because you are only 14 doesn't mean you aren't capable of unloading a magazine on someone (school shootings)!

I don't think they were harsh enough. She should have been convicted of communicating a threat and fined. Let her live with a record.

If we actually enforced a zero tolerance policy for this, it would not be an issue.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in freedom of speach or I would not be serving, but our President can be talked about all day long. When you threaten him, you cross a line and need to be put in place. Period.

She is a whiner and will go through life dissapointed blaming everyone for her faults but herself...

This is not an easy answer. I personally still believe in the freedom of speech, even if it offends someone. But what has to be considered is how much of a threat a statement like that could be taken as.

Personally, I would not cry nor will I when the passing of this current President occurs. Does this mean I wish death on him, that is not what I am saying.

I have the right to wish something, as long as I do not enact on it, it should not be a problem. At the same time, some statements, for the security of our leader, sadly not all citizens, they will investigate such statements. I would expect someone at my door if I posted a statement wishing death on certain people.

I would just be happy to see him out of office and held responsible for any crimes committed while in office. I do not believe the latter will happen because they passed that bill that allows torture and such that allows it even prior to the bill being passed!

Should this girl expect to be questioned, yes. I do not really agree with it. I think she is a less threat than Bin Laudin but they have no luck with finding him, so they have to go after other people to look like they are keeping this country safe. The agents need to keep in mind she is only a freshman. How pathetic they had to be so mean to her.

I think something on my space from a 14 year old girl, who lets face it 14 you don't often think about consequences. Theres a ton of people who say that stuff, I guess to a degree they have to check, But I find it funny that they picked a 14 year to check. I have seen worse stuff on the net from adults. but I did watch the interview in MSNBC, and from what the parents said, I think that the Secret Service, could have handled it better then they did. Since she was 14 years old.

Threatening the life of a president, or even former president, is against the law. If someone is as stupid to post something like "Kill Bush" on their web site then they should expect be questioned. It's not inconceivable that someone would do something like that and mean it.

It's a tough call. There's still alot of people that don't know it's crime to doodle or even say anything violent even if you're just venting and have no intent to do anything. It's gone to extreems to me but we're in extreem times. I just know I had kept things locked up inside and was taught to write out my feelings no matter how bizzare in order to make sense of things. Now here you are getting busted for it. Go figure. God help us when they are able to read our thoughts.......

She probably didn't think anyone would be paying attention to her little myspace page. She probablly thought that since she just some random girl out of millions of people with myspace pages, no one would notice.

I don't think it is a good idea to threaten the leader of our country. I would almost expect to see someone show up at my door if I did.

They weren't harsh enough. The parents should spend more time teaching their kids manners and how to behave then they do. They are lucky it's the US. Some countries would have hauled the brat along with her parents off to an undisclosed location. I report all presidential threats on here. Kids today seems to be rather ignorant about the world around them and their place and responsibilities in it.

Drawing pictures is not a threat.

Of course, with this Nazi regime in office now, I'm surprised she wasn't whisked off to Guantanamo, tortured and raped, and never heard from again.

What does surprise me is that anybody is paying attention to FOX News.

Don't you know that FOX News viewers have been named "The most un-informed" viewers of all?

You really watch FOX news?
Isn't America the land of the free, leader of the free world? Doesn't your Bill of Rights guarantee free speech?
I bet writing kill Osama wouldn't get her arrested, or Kill Bill!
