I heard that there are different kinds of antivirus programs, like some block certain things and others block others which one is the best of the best for trojans and stuff?

I use an antivirus system that the Government of China uses. Have used it for over nine years and never had one virus.

Being a clinical psychiatrist I have a moral and legal obligation to keep my pc 100% clean from all virus/spyware/malware.

Comes with a real time scanner that really works. Actually I am quite amazed over the nine years how well it works.

Open any webpage with an embedded trojan/spyware or malware and scanner will clean on the spot. An It is really removed from your system.
Download any kind of program from zips, all compressed files, software files, music, etc,etc, an if there is a hidden embedded trojan,spyware,malware, this program will stop the download and clean. An will advise you to end the download.
Will even find a virus in the installer wizard, like "Wise Installer". And will stop the installation while it is being installed and clean. Plus this program always will trace back who installed the trojan.
I had a trojan in and wizard installer. Twister caught the trojan and stopped the installation. I wrote the origianl company and told them the wizard installer had an embedded trojan to steal your data. The company now uses thier own installer.
You can't beat this software for a one time purchase fee only. Actually I don't know of any antivirus progam that even comes close to this state of the art technology.
All I can say it is worth the one time fee. Your pc cost alot of money and you don't want it destroyed. Plus your privacy is protected at all times.
There is nothing in it for me to praise this program. I tell it like it is. If it is garbage then I will say so.

http://www.avast.com Avast antivirus is an excellent program with daily updates and will scan your entire system. Be sure and download the free home version. As both programs are the same, they just charge the corporate people.
They will require you to fill out a very short form, so they can send you your free key as both the free and the corporate must be registred. The key is good for one year. After the one year period just request a new key.
Stay away from Nortons and Mcafee, they are pure garbage and neither program knows a trojan or virus when your system has been hit.

I prefer AVG, which has a free home version from Grisoft. A programmer friend put 10 viruses and trojans on his computer then tested a lot of anti virus software, and AVG caught all 10 and 4 he didn't know he had.

AVG is good
but I also recomend that you download and intall
ad-aware se- spyware tool- ( excellent )
windows defender also a spyware tool
CCleaner
keep in mind that running two ANTI VIRUS PROGRAMS can damage your computer so download the software you want then uninstall your current anti-virus before installing the new one.
having two or more spyware tools will not harm your computer and not it's just a good idea to have the tools at your disposal before you need them.
