Depends on the non-profit organization. You can send appeal letters to for-profit companies. Many have a budget for charitable donations. Invite people to visit your facility or talk with them about what you are doing. Organize an open house party. If it a faith-based one, then appeal to religious institutions. If it is an enviromental non-profit, then appeal to companies that support the environment and so on.

That is a strange question. To "get "money is built in in any business proposal . Everything is a business, whether it is no profit or for profit.
Money for the operations of a non profit organization usually come from donations, or government grants.
Does that answer your question? Approach the city, your government, with a business plan outlining your non profit operation.
They will steer you to the right government agency where you can get funding.

First, you have to have sound proposal of your NGO or particular project - who are the beneficiaries, what is the goal of your NGO or project, how are you going to spend your budget etc. When that is done, you can apply for different government or private grants and funds and also approach various business organisations. If you already have some funds, you can advertise yourself (print brochures, web marketing, TV and radio commercials etc) to attract individual contributions. It also helps writing articles and doing PR with local media (it's basically free if you have some writing skills) - you will rise awareness of an issue you are tackling and position yourself as serious organisation aware of the challenges/obstacles. That way you could easier attract funders - it gives your NGO better credibility. Good luck!
