I think that you will find that these God given 'people gifts' want their life to be a one way street, and I am sure that most religious people (if I may describe them as such) would say that they want to live the way God wants them to. Indeed, there is a Christian song saying "One way, Jesus, He's the only one that I would live for" (think of the suicide rates if Jesus is proved to be a fraud) demonstrating this point. Despite this will for a one way street I personally think you are correct in your observation that life is full of turns and choices. Although, if this view is taken then a turning point in your life would surely cause you to enter a one way system after being lost. Interesting.

I consider myself to still be young, and I have, for as long as I remember been waiting for that calling. I'm having a difficult time accepting that my calling may not be as fantastic as i was hoping it would be.
I may very well be fulfilling that calling right now and not even know it. I'm not leading a fantastic, righteous life but i'm certainly not leading a life astray (drugs, multiple partners, drinking excessively, stealing) I do none of those, so i don't expect to have a turning point.

I think the most important thing in my life right now is my significant other, who i think i affect deeply, i hope i do anyway, and maybe he is my mission in life. He's been dealing with the death of a close family member for a couple of years now and sometimes his sadness comes off in other ways, which i think i may be helping him overcome.

well, i had such a turning in my life. My life, as i think was once better, but then it turned for the worse. Everythn turned dark in and around me. I found no reason to live, when i used to have all reason to live. But i think this turning around might have been hard on me, but God is doing wonderdul things in my life today, and has been for a while now. I believe the wonderful things he's doing in my life and is about to do would have never been possible had my life never taken that dark route. All things work for good for those who love the Lord. My life blesses His name Forever. Amen.
