Give him the middle name Jacob, and make his first name start with a T, which will make sense then whether you call him Jacob or TJ. Then when he is old enough to decide, he can go with either one he likes.
If it isn't too presumptuous, I would recommend Thomas Jacob, those two names seem to fit together well to me.

TJ are initials; you could have it for Thomas Jacob and he can later use any version derived from that as he wishes.
