Length times width gives you Sq Ft. Divide that number by 9 to find the number of rolls of sod you will need. Don't divide by 6!!

Length x width for square or rectangular areas and use other geometric formulas for irregular shapes. ! roll of sod is 1 foot x 6 feet = 6 sq. feet. Divid your total sq. feet by 6 to equal the number of rolls of sod
