Don't ask him out. If he has a girlfriend he as been with for two years he probaly love her. Then you would hit up feeling bad and rejected.

It is not natual that you should get the first step. However, you could get closer, talk to him, invite him to a place, and If that doesn`nt work, ask him directly!
