Being a die-hard Ford fan and the whole made in America thing, I kind of do hope they fail miserably.

Funny question, I know a lot of die hard fans will say NASCAR is an American sport, and should only have American cars. I find a little irony in the as a majority of the parts in American cars come from overseas to be assembled here. Does that leave a car 100% American? Or just built in American.
Look around you next time you drive down the highway, how many American cars are on the highway with you? ARE YOU DRIVING AN AMERICAN CAR?
Toyota sells 3 times as many cars per year as ANY other car manufacture. I am stoked they are going to give NASCAR a shot. To be honest I hope that Honda follows suit in the next few years. Honda would have to get a better V-8 engine program going first though.
It is good for the sport in my opinion. Let them have a shot at it.

I am and always will be a Chevy fan!!! A lot of people really don't want a foreign car in NASCAR! But, it is the change of the times. Think about this, when Dodge came back, they were originally a German car. Since they are built in the beautiful U.S.A., it was okay. Toyota is originally from China but they are built in the U.S. So to all those "true" NASCAR fans, it will happen. If you are a true fan, you won't abandon your favorite sport. Deal with the change and enjoy the racing!!!

I think it stinks!!! This was an all American sport for so many years with american brand named auto sponsors!!! Toyota may be made in America alot these days but the majority of the money still goes back to Japan. Let em race Formula 1 leave my NASCAR alone!

Not really but if they allowed in some European cars then that would be interesting. Imagine a Mercedes-Benz at a Nascar race or Aston Martin.
Nah those Chevrolets and Fords would get smoked faster than the former cup sponsor.

Why? All the cars are identical. Only difference is decals. What will fail is the driver (Mikey Waltrip first). Toyota will be dumping awesome amounts of $$$$ and they have been. You watch, Honda will be next.

What does it matter ? All the cars have to fit the same basic profile. The name on the car is for sponsorship . Now if they were actually racing cars that looked like the ones that you and I would see at the dealership , then I would be more impressed.
