No, you'll never catch him. As a child I was dragged along to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve because the only baby-sitter I ever had was my grandmother, and even she wanted to go to Mass on Christmas Eve. I agonised after the service, gazing into the sky, looking out for Santa's sleigh, and all the while tugging at my father's sleeve. Since he was the local Vicar, he had to give his good wishes to the departing congregation. And all the time I was hopping up and down thinking, 'If there's no child in the house, Santa will just fly over.' Take heart, he never forgot me.

The real father Christmas was called St. Nicholas, who used to help the poor children by giving them presents. But of course the church has to step in to add the nativity, and the Victorians added the Father Christmas as the children of nowadays know.

The best way to catch Santa is to wait 'til real late, then go to the other end of town. You know, the one closest to the North Pole. You pick the lock of someone's front door... then you notice if there are presents there. If Santa does not seem to be there.. set that house on fire. Stand back real quick... you don't want to miss Santa escaping.. also the firemen are fun to watch.

of course there's a father christmas, what a silly billy you are. the reason you don't see him is because your trying to stay awake and catch him out, he makes sure the sand man sprinkles sleeping dust over you for him to leave his presents without you seeing. go to bed on christmas eve and wait until morning to see what you've received, stop trying to catch him out, and enjoy yourself

Don't try to stay awake because Father Christmas is quicker then the wink of a eye! That is how he can travel so FAST! YES he is real and so is his wife-the elves and the reindeer! I see the deer in my yard quiet often! May the magic of Christmas always be with you!

There is no Saint Nick! You`re mom and dad put the presence under the tree or next to you`re bed when you are a sleep and if you leave something for Santy-Clause, let`s say, milk and cookies, you`re parents eat them. Grow up!

No, you haven't to stay awake or he won't come to your house, so be a good boy and go to bed full of excitement ready for your pile of pressies on Christmas morning, hope your dreams come true for you this year.

In Europe there were people going to villages to villages saying that. But in truth Father Christmas started out as a fairy tale. And he never existed............ Another point there was a pagan god that resemble father Christmas in many, many ways that may have went thru a name change........
