Both my children are at independent schools, fortunately they went through from nursery, so never had to take the test, but their friends who joined at Reception took the tests. It is more just to check their level of comprehension and understanding. they may get told a little story and then get asked questions about it. they may also be asked to count, sort colours and shapes, pretty general stuff. it is more to see the child's interaction with the children and the staff, and their reaction to the work they have to do!!!!

good luck!!!

when my kids went to something like that, the school wanted to see what the children did with what they were asked to do and also how they mixed with other kids.
