I try to be and I find if you sit and listen to a person of advanced years you can learn not only about them but about yourself. To take time to listen is the greatest gift you can give an old person and to yourself. There is nothing to take the place of experience these people can share with you.

I'm very compassionate with the elderly because I will be one one day.I also grew up in an extended family. My Grandparents on my Mothers side lived with us.Because of that,I feel very comfortable around older people.
If we all just took the time to listen to our elders we'd realize just how wise, funny, interesting they are.
