Hello,

I was just wondering if the Guitar is in Orchestra or Band.

Most Junior High wind bands have a bass guitar. There's a Bass string part, but the String Bass is too hard to learn at that point. So they start the kid out on the Bass Guitar because it's easier to learn and cheaper. Meanwhile, they give the guitar player String Bass lessons so he or she can play the Bass by the time they're in high school.

You definitely want to have a good basis on every instrument. To be a professional conductor (IE symphony orchestra) you'd have to get a strong degree in conducting to begin with. I'd suggest pursuing music education and be a school band/orchestra conductor, and move up out of schools one day if you'd like. Music ed majors learn most every instrument, so that might be the way to go.
