I had an interview last week at Papa John's and I asked on this Yahoo Ask thing if I should do a follow-up call. The majority said I should, or that it couldn't hurt. I decided to call them, but now, I really need some advise on what to say when I do.

Just identify yourself and say that you interviewed there. State that you were really interested in the job, and ask if you are still being considered or if it has been filled. If it has been filled, make sure you state that you are still interested should anything else open up. This is important because there is often high turnover, and the person they just hired instead of you may not work out. You would be surprised how many times I have interviewed, and never received a call back, but when I did my follow-up call they said, "When can you start?". I can only assume that even if they like you in the interview, some employers are not going to hire you unless they see you make the effort of a follow-up call.

Just say you wanted to see if there is any further information you can provide. Get an answer to that. Say you are enthusiastic about the opportunity and hope to hear more about the position soon.
