What are the job duties of LPN's? Do they make good money in Georgia? How long will it take to get certified in Georgia?

LPN's are similar to RN's except that they are not allowed to perform certain tasks. They are often not allowed to actually assess a patient (listen to lungs, heart, etc) and cannot perform certain tasks unless they take additional courses like starting IV's, drawing blood, etc. Also, when you are a LPN, you are limited to working at certain facilities, like a nursing home. Your options are very limited and pay is less than that of an RN. As far as how long it takes, I am guessing that it takes 1 - 2 years. Good Luck with your decision, and before you make that decision, I would recommend getting a job as an aide at a facility that hires LPN's, so you can see first hand what you are getting into.
